    Product Detail:
  • Bathtub mold to cast a concrete tub.
  • This is a one-part mold (just the negative of the tub.
  • This tub mold can be used for a pre-cast tub, or cast in place concrete tub.
  • Reusable- Durable fiberglass construction allows reusing the mold time and time again. (Unlimited with proper care)
  • Can easily pay for itself with just one use.
  • Tub mold comes with handles on the inside of the mold to aid in pulling the mold out of the concrete.
  • We can make this mold with a return flange, so an outer vessel shell can be made that will fit with this inner mold, and allow creation of a free-standing vessel concrete bath tub. We have not made the outer 'vessel' shell mold for this tub, but if interested, please contact us.

  • Product Specifications:
  • Tub Mold Measurements: 52" L x 25.5"W x 18"D**.
  • **NOTE: Depth can be adjusted by trimming/sanding down the fiberglass mold to your desired size.
  • Mold has sloped sides and bottom to ensures proper draining and mold removal from concrete.

  • Mold Setup:
  • Apply a few coats of a strong wax, such as a carnauba based wax, the the mold prior to pouring concrete. We also sell a release agent that is safe for fiberglass, and does not leave an oily residue on the finished concrete.
  • If the mold flexes inwards beyond your tolerance, you may need to cut a few 2x4's and brace the inside of the mold. This mold can be placed in a form, and siliconed in place. Because of its size, it may be necessary to secure from the underside of your form using screws or lags. In most pre-cast cases, you would then build the rest of the form around the tub mold to create a box, and then fill with concrete.
  • Poured in place option- Suspend the mold in place by creating a framework (usually with 2x4's) that arches over the tub area, and then hangs down into the hollow shell of the tub mold, and screws into the cross braces of the tub mold. Once the mold is secure and suspended above the area, you would want to finish off the boxed area for the tub with forms, so that the whole area is ready for concrete. Remember to plan for the drain and overflow (if needed). You can use foam for these knockout areas, and then dissolve the foam after casting by pouring xylene on the foam. Another option is to have the drain hardware in place, and then pour the concrete around it as well (but this would make the drain hardware permanently attached to the tub).

  • Mold Removal:
  • WAX and RELEASE AGENT!! Using wax and a release prior to pouring concrete will usually will allow the mold to just be pulled out using the handles.
  • In some cases, adding cold water and ice to the inside of the mold for 10 minutes will shrink the mold just enough that removal is easier.
  • Forcing compressed air between the fiberglass mold and the concrete can also assist in breaking the suction holding the two together.

  • Mold Care:
  • Clean with a sponge after each use. Any damage can be repaired using epoxy or gelcoat, and sand smooth when dry.

  • Shipping Information:
  • This tub mold can usually ships within 2 business days.
  • Due to its size, we build a crate around this mold, and then ship via Freight. Pricing for shipping freight varies weekly, and by destination, so please contact us so we can get a quote. (Average freight on this mold is around $150.00).
